Datanla Waterfall · Da Lat, Vietnam
A two-seat sled on rails that you brake yourself, winding through the forest down to Datanla Waterfall and hauled back up by cable.
TicketsThe Da Lat Alpine Coaster, also called the Datanla New Alpine Coaster, is a mountain coaster in the Datanla Waterfall tourist area on Prenn Pass, 5–6 km south of central Da Lat. The same area also runs a zipline, a high ropes course and canyoning trips down the falls.
A round-trip ticket covers the ride down, time at the waterfall and the ride back up. Datanla also has an older, shorter coaster; this guide is about the new one.
A brake lever is the only control. Sensor brakes cap the top speed, and magnetic brakes slow your car when it gets close to the one ahead.
The track winds down the wooded hillside of Prenn Pass, and you can slow down wherever you want a photo.
The ride ends near the falls, with a short path down to the viewing spots by the water.
The return is automatic: the car is pulled uphill by cable on a different route, about 15 minutes.
Filming while riding is discouraged, but cameras along the track take your picture, sold at the finish.
Both tickets are round trips with admission included. Riders must be at least 90 cm tall, and from 131 cm the adult fare applies.
Tickets bought online can be cancelled free up to 24 hours before the date; show the voucher at the ticket counter to collect your ticket.

The most popular activities besides the coaster are the zipline at 1,000,000 VND, canyoning down the falls at 1,600,000 VND and the High Rope Course at 383,000 VND. Each is sold as a separate ticket.
Yes, if you want a fun ride rather than an extreme one: you control your own speed, and the track runs through forest to the waterfall. The falls themselves are modest, so treat the ride as the main event.
No, it stops whenever it rains. Showers are most likely in the rainy season, roughly May to October. If you booked online, check the forecast before the free cancellation ends, 24 hours ahead.
Yes, from 90 cm tall. Each car seats two, so a child can share with an adult; children from 90 to 130 cm pay the child fare.
Around 5–10 minutes down, depending on how much you brake, and about 15 minutes back up on the cable. Add time for the queue and the waterfall.
Datanla has two coasters. The older one is about 1,000 m long; the New Alpine Coaster has the longer track, about 2.4 km by the operator's count, and is the one sold online as a round trip.
